The series premise: 12 young people get God-like powers every 90 years. Part of the Faustian bargain is that they all die within 2 years. As a group, they are known as the Pantheon. This series takes place near the beginning of the latest 90 year emergence. Each member has different powers - some of them have the powers/personality traits of Greek Gods, while others are from other myths (like Norse). This Pantheon have revealed themselves to the world and have become celebrities. But what are they famous for? Some of them haven't done anything. You can see the creators' attitude towards modern celebrity culture play out here (some of the Pantheon are dead ringers for current singers).

Volumes 1 and 2 were great. Volume 3 was a series of one-shot filler stories, and volume 4 really went off the rails, only to be redeemed with some plot twists at the end. Volume 5 was better, as the Pantheon entered the second year and began to feel their clocks ticking. The infighting hit new levels and most of them continued to waste their remaining time on Earth.

This volume is well done. The art is solid and the plot moves along briskly. Major characters are killed and it ends with a huge reveal. The story is told out of order, which as been true for much of the series. It is an irritating feature and is often used to hide a weak tale. This comic is interesting enough that the chronological mish-mash is unnecessary. Despite moving forward, the plot is so disjointed that it is tough to follow at times. Mr. Gillen almost seems like he is intentionally trying to obfuscate. Another thing that drags this down a bit is that everyone is flawed (that's fine), but in such a selfish manner that makes it hard to root for anyone. If that's the point, than bravo. I'll keep reading, despite my critiques.

There was a but if a shock at the end, mainly because I saw it happening with Persephone instead. I'm disappointed to see Sakhamet turn out the way she did..... I mean, she was fun to watch spiral.
I want to see how it all ends because I've invested time and money in the series, but I'm very close to giving up. The premise is interesting, but so many of the characters are unlikable and the writing can be pretentious. I'm going to wait and see how long the series goes and cut my losses if it doesn't end in another volume or two.
Brilliant art, rich, full, juicy composition. Loved the whole series excellent story. Worth every penny. Just wish there was more 😥
As others have said I am lost..so freaking lost..this story is just going all over the place. It's like are we going game of thrones with this (which I think we really are because hello..the ending? Yeah, totally game of thrones there..), or are we going just full out death and destruction? The worst part is, wicked and divine has figured out how to suck us in. The art style is still amazing, and we still want to know what's going on. It's that car wreck you can't look away from no matter how badly you want to.
This was a gift for a friend, and she was very excited to receive it! She also did not mention any issues; hence 5 stars
This series is just so good – the story is delightfully unpredictable, the characters are original while still staying true to archetype, the art is always crisp and incredible. This installment is no exception. One of my very favorite comics currently in production.
One of my favorite arcs from, one of my favorite comic book series. Simply stunning the artwork and coloring, the superb writing, everything entwines to become one of the most amazing modern myths I have seen.
